Week 99: Avdiivka risk grows.

Avdiivka

After months of significant offensive operations on the city and its flanks, Russia has managed to cross the highway south of Avdiivka and entered the southern outskirts of the city.

The ‘Zenit’ defensive fortification, which has been a stronghold for Ukraine since 2014, is now at serious risk of being cut off.

Further south of Avdiivka, Russian forces advanced in the area south of the settlement of Pervomaiske.

Krokhmal’ne

Russian forces also advanced some 5km and took up positions in the settlement of Krokhmal’ne, a hamlet on the Luhansk fronline. There has been little information from this area in recent weeks, so it is unclear if the entirety of this advance has been in the past week or whether it has been more gradual.

Syn’kivka

Russian forces have been carrying out attacks towards Syn’kivka over the past few weeks. Assessment of control there puts Russia in control of some buildings on the very northern edge of the settlement.
